It is important to acknowledge here that we are uninvited guests on the unceded traditional territories of the Coast Salish peoples, including the Katzie, Kwantlen and Semiahmoo First Nations. As a descendent of colonizers, I see it as a responsibility to first acknowledge the people on whose land I reside and second to do what I can to dismantle the systems of colonization which have created current inequities, injustices, and abuses of human rights.
